The wraps are off the new Audi TT RS. Following the brain-teaser shots appear in Issue 1,052, here’s the flagship in all its glory. And the shock account is that it will be accessible as a Coupé and Roadster from launch.
In a nod appear the aboriginal Quattro assemblage car, the TT RS uses a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo. It produces 340bhp and 450Nm of torque – abundant for 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds. Top acceleration is belted to 155mph, although the limiter can be removed for a 174mph maximum.
To cope with all that performance, Audi has beefed up the car’s brakes, bargain and stiffened the abeyance and tweaked the four-wheel drive. A Sport button sharpens the settings and makes the bankrupt louder, while the company’s alluring dampers are an option.
Enlarged foreground air vents, a diffuser and anchored rear addition set the RS apart, as do sports seats and a flat-bottomed council wheel. It’s due in the summer, starting at about £40,000.
