Last Auto news – Hyper-XKR hits Goodwood Jaguar is bringing a special XKR to Goodwood
Visitors of the Goodwood Festival of Speed are in for a treat from Jaguar. They’ll be driving a limited edition XKR up the famous hill – the Goodwood Special XKR. Jaguar’s engineers were given the supercharged 5.0-litre XKR and given permission to play as much as they like. The result? 21†wheels, lowered ride height, unique lime green paint, a massive XKR graphic along the side and satin graphite detailing on the front grilles, headlights, wing mirrors, rear signature blades and bonnet louvres. It’s also benefited from undisclosed performance upgrades and a louder exhaust. Jaguar has only made one of these special XKRs, but if public reaction is good, it’s likely they’ll put it into a limited production run. Jaguar has said that Goodwood is the perfect event to test out the harder edge of the XKR, as they can fling the hardcore car around and not have to worry about the legalities of public roads. They won’t only be bringing a loopy XKR – they’ll also race the fastest Jaguar in the world, the 225mph XFR Bonneville, up the hill. As well as their modern cars, Jaguar is going to bring some of its historical racing cars to the festival. The Long Nose D-Type, the Le Mans winning C-Type and the only Jaguar XJ13 in the world will all be flying up the hill during the weekend’s festivities. If you want to see Jaguar’s finest doing what they do best head down to the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 3rd-5th July.Â
