Last Auto News - Four-Door Lamborghini Estoque Revealed in Paris

Last Auto News - After a slow striptease, Italian exotic carmaker Lamborghini has shown the world its first four-door car. The company took the wraps of the Lamborghini Estoque at the Paris Auto Show this morning.

Edmunds Inside Line calls it “wild-looking,” and reports, “The new car has 5.2-liter V10 power and should boast both a close-to-200-mph top speed and a $230,000-plus price.” The car is “officially described as a concept,” but “is being seriously considered for production,” according to “well-placed Lamborghini sources.”

In a press release carried by Jalopnik, Lamborghini explains, “As a concept, the Lamborghini Estoque represents one of several possibilities for a third model series within the Lamborghini product line-up. At this point in time, no decisions have been taken in respect of either a third model series of any kind or of the Lamborghini Estoque concept in particular.”

If it were built, it would compete with high-end Grand Touring cars like the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Aston Martin Rapide. Edmunds comments, “It’s a car with a look of great strength and presence, helped by a wedge-shaped front end, tautly drawn surfacing and extremely unsubtle rear haunches that house giant 23-inch rear wheels shod with 295/30ZR-19 Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires.”

Autoblog adds,” It’s a Lamborghini, so it’s hard not to like it. And we hate to tread out the refrain, but it’s much nicer in person. It feels, though, like they wanted to get this thing done in time for the show, and it needs a couple more drafts.”
